These lovely ladies became much more that travelling buddies since we met in Belize this spring. I was lucky enough to spend time with them in the beginning of their 6 month USA tour, showing them all the redneck activities the PNW has to offer and then again at the close of their trip where I shared the most sacred of American holidays.... Halloween.
I was delighted to share with these pumpkin-carving virgins, our ridiculously commercialized American traditions based on a pagan holiday, involving copious amounts of candy and pretending to be someone else (nothing is truly more American than Halloween). From pumpkin picking and carving, unnaturally pumpkin favored everything, costume parties weeks before actual Halloween and playing 'dress-up' as adults... it was magical.
I consider them my sisters.... or maybe my teenage children since they camped out on my couch for 2 weeks binging on Netflix. Hmmm... Either way, we are forever rellies.
