Angkor Wat is nothing short of utterly incredible. Spread out over more than 10 miles, it is nearly impossible to navigate without a tuktuk and guide. This breathtaking series of temples is a must see for any traveller.

Angkor Wat is considered to be one of the 7 Wonders of the World. It was orginially built by Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, as a Hindu temple. By the 14th century, the temple was converted into a Buddhist shrine. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world. It was built to be a replica of the universe. It represents an earthly model of the cosmic world. The central tower of the temple symbolizes Mount Meru, a mythical mountain which is situated at the center of the universe and home of the devas in Hindu mythology.
